Day GAK - ISPAT
We return after a hiatus of six months. To cut a long story short we laughed our heads off on the second day when the so called 'sure-shot' guys failed to get placed in TCS. We got placed on the third day in IBM (Whoa!). And today on a God-Alone-Knows (GAK) Day of CRP some of our friends are looking for a job in a core company run by our own Mittal-seth of the Versailles-main-Barjatiya-style-shaadi fame. This day being part of yet another vacation, with the mess not running and the other contributor to this blog being 'home alone', we were forced to leave the cozy environs of our rooms. Turns out that "SQUARE ONE" an SVNITian band was gonna perform at Coffee Culture one of the coolest hangouts of apnu Surat. It was a great three hour long show. Contrary to our expectations, and thankfully so, a majority of the crowd was non-SVNITian. The show was a good hit, with a decent mix of hard rock (gnr - sweet child of mine), soft rock (eagles - hotel california), pop (bryan adams - everything I do), grunge (nirvana - smells like teen spirit), indipop (euphoria - maeeri) and some paki stuff too (junoon - pappu yaar! tang naa kar....). We hope such things go on in future too. I am not sure about the other contributor but I believe more and more that the Maneka Gandhi version of Patiala Shahi is a great place to have dinner especially stuffed paranthas. More later...P.S. : SQUARE ONE consists of the lead vocalist, Jojan V Jose; the lead guitarist, Mrinabh Dutta; the rythm guitarist Shubham Shrivastav; the bass guitarist Abhishek Chinchalkar and two girls we conjecture are cheer leaders.
